Junior Year
Mission

FasTrak
During our junior year of high school, CIBACS students are assigned their first big solo project, Fastrak. For this project, students must find a job that interests them, then they must obtain an internship with a professional in that field. The internship entails at least ten hours of learning and hands-on experience. We must document our experience on our website, then present our learnings to judges.
Mission Statement
My mission for this project is to expand my knowledge of investing and learn how banks invest the money they hold. I also hope to find something I love, that could lead me down the right career path. I will strive to produce an excellent depiction of everything I learned, and apply my experience to my daily life as an investor.

Over the last two years, I have learned many things about investing, and found that I have a passion for it. Because I enjoy learning about finances, I wanted to find a banker to intern with. I hoped this would teach me valuable finance information, and tell me if I would enjoy working as a banker in the future. My mother is the CFO of Infinity Bank, and she helped me connect with Victor Guerrero, the President of Infinity Bank.

Victor Guerrero
Mr. Guerrero has spent over 25 years working in the banking industry, and in 2016 he began to start his own bank. After two years of preparation, Infinity Bank officially opened in 2018. Mr. Guerrero taught me about both banking and entrepreneurship. He walked me through his experience starting Infinity Bank and taught me about pitching the company to investors. He also explained the methods he uses to ensure the bank continues operating smoothly. I enjoyed learning about the methods the bank uses to invest their money and grow. This internship has helped me realize that banking can be very interesting, and I could see myself pursuing a career in this field.
